Fundamentals of Foundations Exhibit
Jubilee Artisans is pleased to present Fundamentals of Foundations, an insightful exhibition that delves into the core aspects of the human experience. Curated by Ayanna Johnson, NIU College of Business graduate, the exhibition will be on view from April 19th to May 3, 2025. This exhibition explores the powerful influence of our environment on the development of our identities, examining how surroundings shape who we are and who we become.
Over the course of this six-month exhibit launch period, Ayanna has created three research journals to guide the creative process. These journals include a detailed analysis of the Fundamental Human Needs model, a review of philosopher and economist Eamonn Butler’s Foundations of a Free Society, and research findings presented in the final release of Foundations of Identity.
Though the ideas may seem similar, the exhibition emphasizes both their shared elements and key differences, offering multiple perspectives on how each shapes self-concept and identity formation.
This exhibition is composed of nearly 50 pieces featuring local DeKalb and Chicagoland area artists, highlighting their unique interpretations of these themes.
We invite you to join us on this journey of self-introspection and explore what fundamentally orchestrates your own life.
