No new movies in theaters this week since all the major theater chains are closed. Now would be a really great time to BRING BACK DRIVE-IN THEATERS!

Coronavirus Good News:

Disney will release Onward for digital download TONIGHT. It’ll be streaming on Disney+ on April 3rd.

The White House is now working with distillers across the country to increase the production of hand sanitizer. One of those distilleries is DeKalb’s own Whiskey Acres (which we just featured as our Hometown Heroes last week!) Whiskey Acres was approved on Wednesday by the U.S. Tax and Trade Bureau and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to convert its distillery to make hand sanitizer, using a special formula approved and passed on from the World Health Organization. By the end of next week, they hope to have several thousand bottles of hand sanitizer to donate free of charge to Kishwaukee Hospital and countywide first responders!

Theatre lovers! The streaming service BroadwayHD, which houses hundreds of recordings of theatrical productions around the world from Broadway to the West End, is now allowing you to watch for free! It’s normally priced at $8.99 per month – however, because of the surge of folks staying at home at the moment, the company has introduced a seven-day free trial.

For the animal lovers, zoos and aquariums all over the world are now offering free livestreams of their animals. Places like the Monterey Bay Aquariam in California to the Melbourne Zoo in Australia are giving families the opportunity to enjoy animals while at home. Even Wild Earth is hosting daily safari live streams from South Africa!

For the country fans, the ACMs WILL be doing a show on CBS on April 5th. Instead of trophies and on-stage performances, the artists will go live from their homes or somewhere similar. They’re describing it as “intimate conversations and at-home performances plus clips of moments from the ACM’s 55-year history.”
