Today is World Social Media day…and there’s actually some pretty big social media news related to THIS area. Facebook is building a data center in DeKalb!

DeKalb Mayor Jerry Smith and Gov. Pritzker made the announcement this morning via Facebook. The $800 million development is known by the name Project Ventus and will be built along Peace and Gurler Road across from the ChicagoWest Business Center. It will be only one of 16 Facebook data centers in the world.
