The Art of Lyn Bute

October 9, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

At 7 p.m. October 9, Sycamore artist Lynden Bute will share his 50-year history as an artist.

The presentation is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Oak Crest Retirement Center Little Theater, 2944 Greenwood Acres Dr., DeKalb, following a short business meeting of the DeKalb County Historical-Genealogical Society. Bute will have photos, models and other artwork on display.

Bute is well known for his snow sculptures, as well as his painting and wood carvings. One of his most well-known pieces was a snow sculpture, “Mount Sycamore,” which he created in 1979. It featured relevant Sycamore figures, including former Mayor “Red” Johnson, and was on display on the DeKalb County courthouse lawn in Sycamore.
