Do you love spring? Do you enjoy art? Join Jo Plenger-Schulz at the DeKalb Public Library on Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. and help create a temporary mural that will be displayed at the library!
Over the course of two 1.5-hour sessions, you will get to help design and paint a spring-themed mural. The finished mural will be approximately 6 feet long and 3 feet wide, and it will be displayed in the children’s department. Acrylic paints will be used, so wear old clothes or a paint shirt—the paint will NOT wash out!
This program is intended for children ages 8 to 12. Space is limited to 8 participants. It will be held in the upper level Story & Activity Room. Register at www.dkpl.orgto participate.
Jo Plenger-Schulz has a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Master’s in Art Therapy, both from NIU. You may know her as the artist who painted the library’s huskie, which is currently on display near the elevators on the lower level. Jo specializes in temporary murals and looks forward to creating them with interested young artists.
