‘Historical Markers of DeKalb County’ at the Farm Bureau

November 22, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Explore significant moments in DeKalb County history through the program “Historical Markers of DeKalb County” presented by Donna Langford, Friday, November 22, 2019, 10:30 am at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau.

DeKalb County is a region rich in creativity and initiative from the first settlers recognizing this area as a good place to put down roots to the innovation that continues today.  Significant events and people have been recognized through the dedication of historic markers. The program goes beyond the words cast on the markers, sharing the stories that made these events so significant.

Donna Langford served as the Manager of Operations for the DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association for the past seven and a half years. She is a historian and museum professional with an interest in cause and effect throughout history. She received a Master of Arts degree in anthropology from Northern Illinois University. She also holds an MA in textile history from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The historic marker tour booklet and booklet were created to recognize innovation and highlight achievement.
