The DeKalb Police Department’s Benevolent & Protective Association are asking for donations for their annual Heroes and Helpers program which will take place on December 8th at Target in DeKalb. Local police will give area children the opportunity to shop with them and choose Christmas presents for themselves and their family. They will also have a photo taken with Santa! Donations are accepted through November 27th.
If you would like to learn more about the program and would like to make a donation to help bring more children to this year’s event, please contact Sergeant Chad McNett at 815-748-8439. Any amount is appreciated, and no donation is too small. Additionally, anyone who donates $100 can submit the name of a child to be paired up with an officer for the event. Checks can be made out to DeKalb PB&PA. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the DeKalb Police Department at 700 W. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb.
