“Etched in Stone” Elmwood Cemetery Walk

“Etched in Stone” – the DeKalb County History Center’s Annual Heritage Cemetery Walk is set for Sunday, September 22.

This year, the Sons of Union Veterans partnered with the History Center. They researched and selected the individuals they will be presenting during the Cemetery Walk. This year’s highlights include:   Linus Holcomb,1st Sgt. Co. A. 105th; Reuben Holcomb (long-time sheriff and Civil War veteran)Peter Lloyd Pratt 1874-1913 (President of the Class of 1897, U.S. Naval Academy); Elias West (Civil War Veteran); Ella West (Wife of Elias, and prominent citizen); A.J. Blanchard (Civil War Capt., Supt. Of Sycamore Schools; Charles Boynton (prominent Citizen); Abram Ellwood, Jr. (Mayor of Sycamore)

Please note the new date – Sunday, September 22 (traditionally this event was the first Sunday in October). The Cemetery Walk will start at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.
