Children’s Community Theatre of DeKalb County has announced three engaging, fun summer camps customized for young performers in three age groups. Beginner’s Camp (June 3-14, 2019)
Beginner’s Camp is for children completing Kindergarten (going into 1st grade) through completion of 4th grade (going into 5th grade) in Spring 2019. This year, campers will perform “Pirates Past Noon.” The show is based on the novel of the same name from Mary Pope Osborne’s “Magic Treehouse” series. Schedule: 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Friday. Performance: 7 p.m. June 14.
Rising Star Camp (June 10-20, 2019)
Rising Star Camp is for children who have completed 5th grade (going into 6th grade) through 7th grade (going into 8th grade) in Spring 2019. This year, campers will perform “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” Based on the Academy Award®-winning film and the hit Broadway show, Aladdin and friends are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie with the power to grant three wishes. Schedule: noon-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Performances: 7 p.m. June 21 and June 22; 3 p.m. June 23.
Advanced Broadway Camp (June 17-27, 2019)
Advanced Broadway Theatre Camp is for students who have completed 8th grade through 12th grade in the Spring of 2019 (entering 9th grade through freshman year in college). This year, campers will perform “The Drowsy Chaperone,” an homage to American musicals of the Jazz Age and the effect musicals have on the fans who adore them. Schedule: noon-6 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Performances: 7 p.m. June 28 and June 29; 3 p.m. June 30.
