Emma Vorpagel Earns Academic All-District Honors
Emma Vorpagel (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) of the Northern Illinois University women’s track and field team was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday (June 24).
Vorpagel, a finance major with a 3.926 grade point average, earned a third-place finish in the 800 meters at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships, scoring in the 800 for the second consecutive season after she finished seventh in the event in 2024. She finished in the top-five in the 800 at four of the five meets where she competed in the event this spring.
The Hartland, Wis., native ran a career-best time of 2:07.65 in the 800 at the Billy Hayes Invitational (May 9), the second-fastest outdoor 800-meter time in program history. That time also ranked 19th in the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional rankings.
This marks the third consecutive season in which Vorpagel has earned Academic All-District honors.
To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. A track and field student-athlete must also be in the top-50 regional rankings for an individual event, indoor or outdoor.
