We are joining Safe Passage in celebrating our LGBTQ community during Pride Month! There will be a week long social media challenge beginning on June 15th, leading up to a physically distant Pride Parade & Party on June 20th!
Be sure to participate by using the hashtag #DeKalbPride
Here are the daily themes:
JUNE 15: SHOW US YOUR SKILL – Get creative and show off your PRIDE crafts!
JUNE 16: PRIDE OUTSIDE – Post a picture of PRIDE in nature!
JUNE 17: HONOR A PRIDE HERO – Share a photo or message about your hero (historical or current) in the LGBTQIA+ community!
JUNE 18: THROWBACK THURSDAY – Flashback to your favorite Pride moments from years past OR share your favorite LGBTQIA+ history lesson!
JUNE 19: HELPING HAND – Share your favorite LGBTQIA+ organizations, donate to LGBTQIA+ activists, or help a neighbor! Post a picture of a rainbow hand and tell us what you did to make the world a better, more proud place!
JUNE 20: PRIDE PARTY! – Be a part of Safe Passage’s drive-thru pride party, jam out to tunes, pick up some swag, and join a community celebration, all from the comfort and safety of your own decorated car! (Location: 217 Franklin St. DeKalb, Time 2-4pm) UPDATE: DUE TO WEATHER, THE PRIDE PARADE HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO TUESDAY JUNE 30TH FROM 4 TO 6 PM
JUNE 21: DEKALB PROUD – Share your decorated vehicles from the Pride Party, your Pride gear at your homes, or any favorite pride spot throughout the community! Let’s show what makes us PROUD and welcoming!
