The Better Business Bureau has released a new risk report and the results may surprise you.

They that found that adults between the ages of 18 to 24 were the most scammed in 2020! The BBB say these young adults had a 57% loss likelihood to a scam during the pandemic, whereas before the pandemic, seniors 65 and older were at the highest risk of losing money to a scam.

Not only were young adults more likely to get scammed, they also lost more money on average than any other age group. So what’s going on?

The BBB says that the losses are due to all of of that time we wasted online during the pandemic. Over half of those who reported scams said they purchased more online than in-store in 2020.

Ahh… it’s all those shady product ads that pop up on your timeline! This is a friendly reminder that no matter how hold you are, do your research when shopping online.
