On Tuesday, June 15th, the Rock River Anything That Floats Race Steering Committee announced they made the decision not to hold a race in the summer of 2021. They said while the decision was not easy, there were several factors that made it necessary this year.
One of the reasons was simply because they just didn’t have enough time to put this event together after COVID-19. They also stated that raft-building materials costs have skyrocketed 300% – 400%, which could perhaps create an affordability issue for some teams.

In the statement, the Race Steering Committee said, “With a lack of time, team interest, sponsorship, and other challenges facing us this summer, we have decided to drop anchor on a 2021 event and redouble our planning efforts to bring back the Rock River Anything That Floats Race in 2022.”
